There was a mock debate between Bill O'Reilly of the O'Reilly Factor and John Stewart of The Daily Show which was called The Rumble 2012 (The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium). The O'Reilly vs Stewart 2012 took place on October 6th, 2012 at about 8 pm Eastern Time and was moderated by CNN news anchor, E.D Hill.

The Record has it the same way as The New York Times that, O'Reilly and Stewart have always been guests on each other's programs since 2001. This is not as interesting as the fact that both of them have rarely agreed on anything except the mutual respect they have for each other.

O'Reilly and Stewart donated half of the net profit realized from the live internet stream and downloadable video files which were offered for $4.95 to a number of charitable causes, and the tickets to attend the event live at the Lisner Auditorium, George Washington University were announced a day after the debate and sold out.

Users could not watch the event live as a result of a technical trouble that arouse at the beginning of the debate.

Michael Clarke Duncan Died of Heart Attack

An American Actor, Michael Clarke Duncan was born on the 10th of December, 1957 and he died of heart attack on the 3rd of September, 2012. He contributed a lot into the entertainment industry and that is one of the things he will always be remembered for. His breakout role as John Coffey in the Green Mile made him to be nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. Some of the roles he played that also gave him recognition are, his appearances in motion pictures such as Armageddon, the Whole Nine Yards, Daredevil and the voice acting roles in works such as Brother Bear and Kung Fu panda.

The actual place that Michael Clarke Duncan was born is Chicago, Illinois and he was brought up in a single parent household with his sister, Judy, and mother, Jean Duncan who was a house cleaner, after his father left. Michael Clarke Duncan’s choice of endeavor was acting and he was passionate about it and he had to drop out of the communications program at Alcorn State University to support his family when his mother became ill. Duncan used his gift of large frame 6 feet 5 inches and 142 kg in his jobs digging, and for the people’s Gas Company and being a bouncer at several Chicago clubs. He participated in the Disco Demolition Night at Comiskey Park, home of the Chicago White Sox in 1979 where he was among the first 100 people to run unto the field and he slid into third base. During the ensuing riot, his silver belt buckle was stolen while he was stealing a baseball bat from the dugout.

When Duncan was in Los Angeles, he took some security jobs while trying to get some acting work in commercials. He worked as a body guard for celebrities like LL Cool J, Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, and The late Notorious B.I.G, but he had to quit this line of work when Notorious B.I.G got killed in 1997.

He was cast as Bear in the film Armageddon in 1998, and there, he struck up a friendship with castmate Bruce Willis. The John Coffey breakout role he played in the Frank Darabont directed film, “The Green Mile,” which netted him an Academy Award nomination for best actor in a Supporting Role and a Golden Globe nomination for best performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a motion picture was made possible for him because, the influence of Bruce Willis helped him.

Duncan then was cast in a string of films such as, The Whole Nine Yards, Planet of the Apes, The Scorpion King (where he starred alongside his friend, The Rock), The Island and Daredevil (reuniting him with Armageddon co-star Ben Affleck) as Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin. These helped to establish him as a star.

Duncan signed on for the role of the kingpin in January 2002, though he had been attached far earlier. When he was cast, he weighed 290 pounds and he was asked to gain 40 pounds for the role in order to fit the physic of Kingpin. In order to do this, he would lift weights for 30 minutes a day, and power lifted with one or two reps a day, as well as eating whatever he wanted. Despite this, Duncan’s biggest concern was that he was black, because Kingpin had always been portrayed as white. He spoke on the fans’ loyalty to the source material by saying he wanted them to just see the movie for what it is and see him for what he was – an actor.

Duncan also showed interest in returning for the role of the Kingpin in July 2006, but stated that he would not be willing to gain weight as he felt comfortable being down to 270 pounds but he jokingly showed the willingness to change his mind if he were offered $20 million. Duncan stopped eating meat in the year 2009 and later appeared in a PETA ad campaign, touting the health benefits and his increased strength from a vegetarian diet.

Michael Clarke Duncan played many roles in different films and guest starred in numerous television shows. During the week of May 14,2012, Michael Clarke Duncan appeared on the late night talk show with Craig Ferguson as a guest, when the show was taping for week in Scotland.

Duncan was taken to the hospital after suffering from heart attack on July 13, 2012. Media reports suggested that his girlfriend, Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth had previously tried to save his life by performing CPR. Duncan’s publicist, Joy Fehily, issued a statement on August 6 that read he was moved from the intensive-care unit but remained hospitalized following his heart attack.

On September 3, Fehily quoted Manigault as saying that Duncan had died in the morning in Los Angeles. He added that celebration of Duncan’s life would be announced at a later date.
